NEW BRITAIN — With snow already on the ground in the region, it’s an appropriate time for the Downtown Gallery to open a holiday exhibit.
A group of artists known as “Painters Five” will have their work featured in the gallery from Nov. 10 to Dec. 22 in an exhibit titled “Art Treasures for the Holidays: Work under $200 by Estrid Eklof, Walter Kendra, Carolyn Newell, Diane Rubacha and Lisa Tellier.”
There will be a reception held Nov. 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the gallery, which is located at 66 W. Main St.
The Downtown Gallery is located on the first floor of the New Britain Artists’ Co-op, which will open its “Five Floors of Art,” during the exhibition. There will also be open studios held by the members of the co-op during the event.
The exhibit is being held to display works of art that could be possible holiday gifts.
The Downtown Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and during exhibitions Thursdays until 8 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
