SOUTHINGTON — Although the tattoo parlor at 991 South Main St. in Plantsville has been open for a few months, Hartford County Tattoo will be holding an open house Sunday to celebrate its new location.
“We opened last February, so it’s been coming on a year almost,” said Chad Lockhart, owner of Hartford County Tattoo. “We never had a grand opening because we were busy when we opened.”
During the event there will be live acoustic music from Kevin Oulette, a friend of Lockhart’s from Bristol.
Prizes such as sweatshirts and T-shirts will be given out and there will be raffles to win $100 gift certificates for a tattoo.
Those in attendance can also receive 10 percent off any appointment of $100 or more booked during the open house.
The tattoo parlor, which is set up like an art gallery, will feature new artwork from the tattoo artists. There will also be coffee and refreshments served.
One of the reasons the parlor was opened in Southington is a law there allowing teenagers at least 16 years old to receive tattoos with parental consent. By comparison, in Bristol they have to be 18.
