It’s that time of year again. The one your credit card and bank account have been dreading: It’s time for holiday shopping. Luckily, local businesses are offering great deals on gifts this year that won’t break the bank.
Mitch’s Place, a warehouse surplus store located at 227 Main St. in downtown New Britain, will have competitive sales during the holiday season.
The liquidation store sale, as it’s called, includes all clothing priced at $5 with jackets priced at $20. Mitch’s Place will also have 20 percent off houseware and Christmas decorations and $49.95 blu-ray players.
“I believe a lot of clothing will go,” co-owner Hazel Lichatc said. “I do anticipate the blu-rays flying off.”
The sale will be going on up until Christmas Day. Lichatc said the store will be getting new merchandise in every week.
For clothing gifts of any age, head over to Mickey Finn’s on the Berlin Turnpike in Berlin for great deals on brands such as Lacoste, Polo by Ralph Lauren and The North Face.
“We have a large selection of the brands people are looking for,” said Doug Cohen, a store manager.
Through the holiday season the store will have 50 to 60 percent off men’s Columbia sportswear and 50 to 60 percent off Dockers tops. Men’s Levis are priced at $34.99 and Junior Levis are priced at $29.99, which Cohen says is the lowest price that will be found on Levis.
Girl’s Junior’s Zco, YMI and Almost Famous jeans are all 50 percent off.
