Tops are tops at Fashion Bug

If women’s clothing is on the shopping list, then the Fashion Bug in Bristol Commons on Farmington Avenue in Bristol is an ideal stop.

This Black Friday, Fashion Bug, which is opening earlier than usual at 8 a.m., will have 40 percent off the entire store and all tops will be buy one get one free.

“You could get a cardigan. You could get a button up. You could get a turtle neck,” said Jackie Vigue, a store manager.

From Dec. 4 to 15, the entire store is buy one get one 60 percent off.

Throughout the holiday season there will be multiple doorbuster deals available including $15 sweaters on Dec. 2 and $10 sleep shirts on Dec. 9.

Fashion Bug will a host a “Girls’ Night Out” event on Dec. 2 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Throughout the event, the store will offer $25 off of purchases of $75 or more. There will also be vendors present, such as Mary Kay representatives.

“It’s like a personal shopping thing. They get some pampering and they get some food,” said Vigue.

She said big items this year will include sweaters, scarves and coats.

“Lots of boots,” she added. “They’re crazy popular.”

All sales at Fashion Bug are subject to change and will have some exclusions.

While shopping at the Bristol Commons be sure to check out the sales at Kathy’s Hallmark.

The store will be changing its sales throughout the season. Some of the promotions include 50 percent off discontinued and retired Vera Bradley patterns and styles, buy one get one for 99 cents on gift wrapping, and holiday recordable story books for $19.95 with any purchase.

From Nov. 25 to Dec. 4 Hallmark holiday boxed cards will be buy one get one 50 percent off.

One of the new and expected-to-be-popular items is Jingle the Husky Pup and the companion book. The dog is programmed to bark on keywords when the book is read aloud.

The store will also be carrying Snoozie Boots for $24.99.

“They’re really cute. They’re like slippers and they come in all kinds of patterns and colors,” said Sara Funk, a store manager. “That’s something we have in new that I think will be popular.”

Another item expected to be popular is the Elf on the Shelf.

“It’s a kit that includes a storybook and the actual elf, the doll,” Funk said.

Kathy’s Hallmark will be open until 8 p.m. instead of the regular 7 p.m. on Saturdays through the holiday season.
